Seven talented Solon High School students were formally inducted into the prestigious National Art Honor Society during a special ceremony held last month.
The 2025 inductees are Avighna Mukherjee, Isabella Pines, Thatcher Gross, Kamron Pratt, Jayden Reyes and Selena Liao. Additionally, the organization recognized the 2025 officers for their leadership: Co-Presidents Nina Van Zandweghe and Olivia Liu, Vice Presidents Jiya Rai and Mandi Lu, Secretary Abigail Xiong, PR Officer Thatcher Gross and Treasurer Kamron Pratt.
"These students have consistently demonstrated the highest qualities in art scholarship, character, and service," said Jennifer Thompson, Solon High School art teacher and NAHS advisor.
"What makes this group particularly special is how they're planning to integrate their artistic talents into diverse career paths including design, architecture, business, and STEM fields," she said. You are creators, innovators and leaders - congratulations!"
Established in 1978 by the National Art Education Association, the NAHS program recognizes students who have shown outstanding ability and interest in art, supports their pursuit of artistic excellence, and brings art education to the attention of schools and communities nationwide.
To qualify for membership, students completed 30 hours of art-related community service and participated in the chapter's annual art auction charity project.
